Installation & User Guide
From first setup to review: live answers, resumes and reference files, captures, focus modes, mobile remote, audio checks, notes, and billing.
This guide covers the latest features. If an entry is missing, check for updates and the version released for your platform.
Install & Set Up
Download the client for your platform, sign in, and check audio before starting your first interview.
1. Download and install
On Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later, open the DMG and drag the app into Applications before launching. Download the Windows installer for Windows; capture protection requires Windows 10 version 2004 or later. Use Check for Updates to upgrade.
2. Grant permissions for your platform
On macOS, enable Screen Recording, Microphone, and Accessibility in System Settings → Privacy & Security, then restart when prompted. On Windows, allow microphone access and confirm that the meeting playback device produces sound. System audio captures the interviewer; the microphone captures you. No virtual audio driver is needed.
3. Sign in and try it
Register with an email verification code and sign in. New accounts receive 100 credits during the public beta. Use headphones; play some speech to check interviewer transcription, then speak to check your own channel. Invisible Notes works without signing in.
4. Check both audio channels for free
After signing in and before starting an interview, open Audio Check in the interview overlay (under Guides and tests → Audio check in newer versions; Pre-Interview Audio Check · Free in earlier versions), then choose Play sample and check. Wear headphones, use the output device planned for your meeting, and speak into the microphone. Read the two transcripts separately; only the sample question generates an AI answer. The check uses no credits, starts no interview, and saves no practice content to review. Retest after changing headphones or speakers, and leave OA mode first.
5. Try the guide and stealth check
Newer interview overlays group Audio check, Get started, and Stealth Check under Guides and tests. Get started → Open guide helps you practice appearance and shortcuts and learn interview audio and OA captures. Stealth Check inspects overlay visibility in screen sharing; also confirm it in your actual meeting app before use. In OA mode, open the guide and stealth check from the capture window header; leave the mode for an audio check.
Start & End an Interview
Every Start Interview creates a new session, with conversation context retained within that session.
1. Start the interview
Click Start Interview at the top of the interview overlay to transcribe both sides of the conversation and show answer hints. The same button then becomes End Interview. Responses adapt to the current question without a technical/HR mode selector. A resume is optional.
2. Review the current conversation
Scroll the interview with Ctrl + Option + ↑ / ↓ on macOS or Ctrl + Alt + ↑ / ↓ on Windows; hold an arrow to keep scrolling. Scroll to the bottom to follow new answers again. The “↓ New answer” label is an indicator, not a clickable jump button. Left/right turn navigation is unavailable; interview scrolling is independent of captures.
3. End the session
Click End Interview to stop capture and generation and settle session usage. Starting again clears live conversation context; previous sessions cannot be resumed. Saved cloud history remains available for review. Hiding windows does not end the interview or stop billing.
Find the interview overlay and menu
Show the interview overlay with Option + M on macOS or Ctrl + Alt + M on Windows, then use Menu or My Account at the top. Labeled Main Panel in settings, this shortcut controls the capture overlay in OA mode and the interview overlay otherwise; it does not start or end an interview. On macOS, the menu-bar icon hides during an interview; use Menu on the overlay for settings, notes, or Quit. The icon returns when the interview ends.
Choose Default or Deep answers
In Interview Management → Answer Mode, select Default (recommended) or Deep. Credit plans charge 1 credit/min for Default and 2 credits/min for Deep, which may be slower. Neither requires Monthly Sprint. The mode and rate are fixed when each interview starts; changing the preference during a session applies to the next one. This choice is separate from interview-only mode and Quick/Deep Capture.
Resume & Target Role
Open My Account → Interview Management. Pro and Monthly Sprint support resume upload and personalized answers.
1. Import or paste a resume
Choose Import File or Paste Text. Supported formats include PDF, Word, Pages, RTF, ODT, text, Markdown, HTML, and common images; scanned pages can be recognized automatically. The limit is 20 MB and 20 pages per file, with up to 8,000 characters used for answers. Longer text is marked as truncated.
2. Review the text and optionally set a role
Use Preview & Edit to check extracted text, especially names, experience, and numbers from scans. Leave Target Role blank for automatic adaptation, or enter a role name and click Save Role when changing direction. A full job description is not required.
3. Start while analysis is in progress
The app prepares a career profile and answer strategy from your resume. You can start before analysis finishes, using the available resume text. Verify generated descriptions and numbers before using them. A failed import keeps your previous usable resume; retry or paste text instead.
4. Manage and clear your material
Resume files, extracted text, target role, and generated profiles are stored in the cloud for personalization. Authorized administrators can access them for support. Clear Resume removes associated resume data but keeps independent reference materials and unconfirmed historical files. Resume clearing, material deletion, and interview-history deletion are separate actions; see the privacy policy.
5. Add reference materials and confirm old imports
In Interview Management → Reference Materials and Past Imports, upload multiple job descriptions, project documents, or study notes on Pro or Monthly Sprint. They do not replace your resume. Preview extracted text, enable, disable, or delete each file; up to 10 can be enabled together. Files marked Past Import · Needs Confirmation are excluded from answers until you review and enable them. References inform answers separately and are not evidence of your personal experience. Import a file through the resume entry point if it should be your resume.
Quick & Deep Capture
Both modes support coding and written questions without a question-type selector. Capture works after sign-in, even when no voice interview is running. Rates below apply to credit plans; captures use no credits while Monthly Sprint is active.
Deep Capture · 8 credits/use
Understands text and visual content in the screenshot. Choose it for geometry, charts, or questions that depend on positions, labels, or connections. It also handles text and code. Default: Cmd + Shift + K on macOS; Ctrl + Shift + K on Windows.
Quick Capture · 4 credits/use
Use it for text-heavy coding, multiple-choice, fill-in, and true/false questions. Defaults: Cmd + Shift + J on macOS, Ctrl + Shift + L on Windows. If the original image needs Deep analysis, 4 additional credits are charged, totaling 8. Insufficient fallback credits or a failed analysis refund the actual charge. Choose Deep Capture directly for image-dependent questions.
Up to 3 tasks at once
Each capture shortcut starts a new screenshot task; both modes share a limit of 3 concurrent tasks. Wait for one to finish when the limit is reached. Use ‹ / › in the header or Shift + ← / → to browse existing task pages, one page per press; holding does not repeatedly change pages. Shift + ↑ / ↓ scrolls the current answer and can be held. Other tasks finishing do not switch the page you are reading.
Results and retries
The capture overlay no longer has a top-right × close button. Enable interview-only mode to focus on the conversation, or use One-Key Hide to hide windows; neither cancels existing tasks or clears results. Task pages last until sign-out or app exit. A new capture adds a task and is charged separately. Failed analysis, no question, or unclear content shows a reason and refunds the actual charge. With cloud saving enabled, standalone captures save results and original responses from each stage, including outputs received before failure, under Screen Records. Signing out or exiting does not delete cloud records. Screenshots are not saved by default.
Invisible Notes
Free and saved on this device only. No sign-in, subscription, credits, or active interview is required.
1. Prepare your notes
Open Invisible Notes from the macOS menu bar or Windows tray; Windows also has an entry at the top of the account/settings window. Create a note, type text or paste rich text, and organize introductions, project points, and reference material across multiple notes. Headings, emphasis, lists, quotes, and code blocks are supported.
2. Save and show
Click Save & Show, or press Cmd + S on macOS / Ctrl + S on Windows while in the notes editor, to save the current note and open its overlay. Typing and switching tabs keep an editing draft; save before quitting the app. Show Note displays the last saved content. Rich-text paste keeps basic formatting but removes images, clickable links, and custom fonts and colors.
3. Hide or delete
Closing the overlay hides it while keeping the note saved locally. Show it again from the manager, or choose Delete Note to remove its content. Notes do not sync with your account or automatically enter AI answer context. The app hide shortcut also hides notes; verify capture protection in your actual sharing setup.
Note overlay buttons and click-through
Displayed note content is always read-only, unselectable, and click-through; edit it in the notes manager. Use the top ↑ / ↓ buttons to page through long notes, not the capture or interview arrow shortcuts. Drag the top bar or resize at the lower-right corner. If the top bar is also unclickable, enable interaction with the app shortcut. Turning Partial Interaction off does not make note content clickable or editable.
Cloud Interview History
Open My Account → Interview Management → Open Interview History to view and manage records in your browser.
What gets saved
Save Cloud Interview History is on by default, while existing opt-out choices are preserved. It saves interviewer questions, AI hints, your answers, capture results, and original model responses from each stage, including outputs received before a request failed. Standalone captures can be saved without starting an interview. The history page has separate Interview conversations and Screen analysis history views. Authorized administrators can view saved records for support and troubleshooting. History cannot be resumed as a live interview.
Enable, disable, or delete
Turning saving off immediately stops further content saves without deleting existing records. Operational metadata such as request times, status, and billing may still be retained. After re-enabling, interview content and captures within an interview are saved starting with the next new interview. Outside an interview, saving applies to newly started standalone captures; earlier requests are not backfilled. Delete an individual screen record, delete an interview with its linked captures, or clear all records, including standalone captures. Pending related cleanup is shown on the page. Closing windows, signing out, or exiting does not delete cloud records. Deleting history does not clear your resume or reverse usage charges.
Online processing and local content
Live audio, text, and capture requests are still processed online when history saving is off. Network interruptions can leave gaps in saved history. Invisible Notes is stored separately on this device and is unaffected by the cloud-history setting. From history, manually generate question-level scores and Checkpoint practice. The page shows the charge for confirmation before generation. Each account gets two lifetime free generations; later requests are priced by both speakers’ transcript length (default: 1 credit per 1,000 characters, rounded up). The displayed quote applies. Failures and non-interviews restore the charge or free use.
Settings & Languages
Settings has Appearance and Shortcuts tabs. Manage resumes, target roles, and history in Interview Management.
Appearance and windows
In Settings → Appearance, adjust font size, text color and opacity, panel background, and content highlights. Code Background has separate color and opacity controls; 0% is transparent and does not change text or the panel background. Highlight at 0% removes content backgrounds and side lines. macOS changes apply immediately; on Windows choose Save Settings. Fixed Window Size stops automatic height changes while keeping manual resizing available.
Record shortcuts
Click a shortcut field and press a combination; Esc cancels. Valid macOS changes save immediately; on Windows choose Save Settings. Capture navigation requires modifiers plus an arrow; recording one direction sets all four, while interview scrolling sets only up/down. Navigation cannot use mouse buttons. Capture, hide, interaction, and overlay visibility can use the middle button (MButton) or side buttons (XButton1/XButton2), without modifiers; binding takes over the button’s original function.
Interface, interview, and code language
macOS: use Language / Lang at the top of the interview overlay or Language in the menu. Windows: use Language / Lang in the overlay or My Account → Language in the left navigation, then select OK. Set interface, interview, and code languages independently. Code languages include Python, Java, C, C++, JavaScript, Go, TypeScript, and Rust.
Interaction toggle and Partial Interaction
When interaction is off, interview, capture, and note overlays pass clicks through, including their top buttons, dragging, and resizing. Enable it with Cmd + Shift + I on macOS or Ctrl + Shift + D on Windows. If Partial Interaction is checked in the menu (the default), only the interview and capture headers and resize handles work, and Copy is hidden. To select text or copy code, keep interaction on and uncheck Partial Interaction. Account, settings, and the notes editor are not controlled by the overlay click-through toggle.
Default Shortcuts
These are default global shortcuts. Upgrades preserve valid custom bindings; check Settings → Shortcuts in the client. Press each arrow together with the listed modifiers.
| Action | macOS | Windows |
|---|---|---|
| Deep Capture | Cmd+Shift+K | Ctrl+Shift+K |
| Quick Capture | Cmd+Shift+J | Ctrl+Shift+L |
| Previous / next capture page | Shift+← Shift+→ | Shift+← Shift+→ |
| Scroll capture answer | Shift+↑ Shift+↓ | Shift+↑ Shift+↓ |
| Scroll interview conversation | Ctrl+Option+↑ Ctrl+Option+↓ | Ctrl+Alt+↑ Ctrl+Alt+↓ |
| Hide / restore windows | Cmd+Shift+P | Ctrl+Shift+P |
| Toggle overlay interaction, not Partial Interaction | Cmd+Shift+I | Ctrl+Shift+D |
| Main panel visibility (capture in OA mode) | Option+M | Ctrl+Alt+M |
Navigation works only when its target overlay is visible and Enable Arrow-Key Navigation is on. Both windows remain independently controlled. Arrows cannot reveal a hidden target; its combination returns to the foreground app. The navigation setting does not disable ordinary capture or hide shortcuts and does not control note paging. On Windows, showing Settings pauses global shortcuts until you save or leave that page.
Only while the notes editor has focus
| Action | macOS | Windows |

| Save and show the current note | Cmd+S | Ctrl+S |
Capture Protection & Self-Check
Interview, capture, and note overlays use system capture protection. Results depend on your OS version and sharing method.
Check the actual shared view
Preview sharing with StealthBench, then verify in your meeting software. Correct permissions and window flags do not guarantee invisibility through every capture method. Open Help and Stealth Self-Check from the top of the capture window. The built-in check requires macOS 14+ and only covers that capture; on macOS 13, use the web-based StealthBench to inspect a sharing preview.
Hide windows when needed
The hide shortcut hides app windows and visible notes; press it again to restore them. It does not stop interview billing or cancel captures. Using the interview-overlay visibility key instead (Option + M / Ctrl + Alt + M) brings back only that overlay, not all windows. Global shortcuts pause while Windows Settings is open; save or leave Settings first. Dragging can still change focus; capture protection is separate from a platform’s focus or screen-switch monitoring.
Follow the rules of your setting
Use only for practice or where the organizer explicitly permits AI assistance. Statutory national examinations and their interview stages are not supported. Check the organizer’s rules for AI and external tools before use.
Supported platforms & stealth
Stealth mode protects WebRTC-based screen sharing by keeping the overlay out of the shared image. See platform support and required settings below.

Stealth here means the overlay is absent from the shared screen. The detection column describes using app hotkeys. Results can vary by OS, browser, and app version; self-test first. Clicking or dragging the overlay may still trigger focus-loss detection.
Tencent Meeting setup
When sharing your screen, set the sharing quality to “Prioritize smoothness”, then confirm that the overlay is absent from the shared preview.
Zoom setup
In the advanced screen-sharing settings, select “Screen capture with window filtering” as the capture mode, then start sharing and check the result.
Dual-camera interviews: lower overlay and text opacity
Screen-sharing protection applies to the digital shared image. For dual-camera interviews, lower both background and text opacity in Settings to make the overlay harder to read on a phone filming from the side. Check the phone preview with your actual camera angle, screen brightness, and lighting while keeping the text readable to you.
Credits, Plans & Payment
Credit plans charge for interview time and captures. Monthly Sprint includes interviews, captures, and reviews without credit charges while active. Invisible Notes is free. View your balance and usage in My Account.
How credits are used
Credit plans charge 1 credit/min for Default interview answers and 2 credits/min for Deep. The rate is fixed at session start and settled at the end, with duration rounded up to minutes. Transcription and AI dialogue are not charged again. Quick Capture costs 4 credits; Deep Capture costs 8. A Quick-to-Deep fallback adds 4, totaling 8; failures refund the actual charge. OA mode starts no interview timer, mobile remote uses the same rates, and the audio check is free. No credits are charged for these uses while Monthly Sprint is active.
Free accounts and 30-day plans
During public beta, registration grants 100 credits with long-term validity and no automatic monthly refill. For 30 days: Lite costs $5.99 / ¥30 for 100 credits, about 1 interview + 1 written test; Pro costs $16.99 / ¥100 for 400 credits, about 4 interviews + 4 written tests. Monthly Sprint costs $59 / ¥398 for unlimited credits, all Pro features, resume upload, model switching, and included reviews. Estimates vary with duration, captures, and review usage. Daily review and concurrency limits still apply.
Monthly plans, top-ups, and balances
Plans are one-time purchases valid for 30 days from payment, with no auto-renewal. Annual plans and Premium are no longer sold; existing orders keep their benefits. Buying a plan preserves your existing credits. Monthly Sprint displays “Unlimited credits” while active; your existing balance remains available afterward. A $5.99 / ¥30 top-up adds 100 credits without changing your tier or extending its validity.
Complete payment
Select a plan or top-up in My Account, then choose an available payment method. WeChat Pay and Alipay use CNY; PayPal uses USD. Available methods are shown during checkout. Complete payment in the browser; the client refreshes after confirmation, or you can refresh manually. Follow checkout instructions to retry a declined or cancelled payment.
Missing credits or refund requests
Contact [email protected] with your order ID, payment method, and payment time. Support will check the order and whether benefits have been used before processing a refund request. See the Terms of Service for details.
Troubleshooting
Missing interviewer or microphone transcription
Check the meeting playback device, screen-recording permission, and microphone permission; end the interview before starting again. If the microphone is unavailable, interviewer-only transcription can continue, but your answers will not enter context. If macOS shows duplicate permission entries after an update, follow the app prompt to remove the old authorization and grant it again.
A shortcut fails or conflicts
On macOS, check Accessibility permission. If arrow navigation fails, check that its target overlay is visible and navigation is enabled. macOS pauses global triggers during shortcut recording. Windows pauses them as soon as Settings is shown; save or leave that page to resume. Match the full combination without extra modifiers; if the combination or window visibility changes while holding keys, release everything and press again. Re-record conflicting bindings. On Windows, saving an empty field keeps its old binding; it does not disable the shortcut.
Capture has no answer or resume import fails
Follow the result-page message to check your network, credits, login, and screenshot permissions. Keep the full question and required diagrams on screen, then retry. For resumes, check the format, page count, and file size, review extracted text, or use Paste Text.
Unclickable headers, missing Copy, or notes that will not page
If header buttons do not respond, enable overlay interaction with its shortcut; on Windows, first save or leave Settings if it is open. If the body still passes clicks through, Partial Interaction is on. To copy capture code, enable interaction, disable Partial Interaction, and click Copy in the code area. It copies only the code block, not the whole answer. Note bodies always remain unclickable; use the top ↑ / ↓ buttons for long notes. Buttons disable at the beginning or end.
Windows or listening unavailable after a mode switch
OA mode hides the interview overlay and blocks listening and audio checks. Leaving it restores the interview window; start the interview manually. Interview-only mode hides captures and pauses capture shortcuts; leaving it restores existing results. Before entering OA mode, end the interview or audio check and wait for audio cleanup. In OA mode the Main Panel shortcut controls the capture overlay.
Mobile connection expired or an answer is too long
Confirm the computer is signed in, online, and remote control is enabled. If reconnection fails or the link expires, choose Renew Link on the computer and scan again. Reconnect after sign-out or disabling remote control. If the phone reports an oversized answer, read the full capture result on the desktop. If Start Listening is unavailable, check for OA mode or an active audio check.
OA & interview-only modes
Select a mode in the macOS menu bar or overlay menu, or the Windows system tray menu. The modes are mutually exclusive: enabling one turns off the other. Your choice is restored at the next launch.
OA mode: keep only the capture window
Hide the voice overlay while keeping Quick/Deep Capture, up to three concurrent tasks, existing result pages, and notes. No voice session, microphone, or audio check starts; captures retain their per-use rate. End any interview or audio check and wait for audio cleanup before entering. Uncheck the mode to restore the main overlay without automatically starting an interview.
Interview-only: keep only the conversation window
Hide the capture window and pause capture shortcuts to focus on live dialogue. Enabling the mode does not start an interview; select Start Interview when ready. Uncheck it to restore the capture window and its results. The window mode and Default/Deep Answer Mode are separate options.
Hide, restore, and find your windows
Switching modes does not delete capture results or change which notes are visible. One-Key Hide restores windows according to the current mode; switching while hidden keeps them hidden. Option + M / Ctrl + Alt + M controls the capture overlay in OA mode and the interview overlay otherwise. Account, settings, and mode switches remain available in the menu.
Mobile browser remote
Control InvisiCopilot on your computer and read answers in a phone browser. Works with macOS and Windows, without a phone app or a shared local network. Keep the computer online.
1. Sign in on the computer and scan
Open Mobile Remote from the computer menu or Windows system tray; Windows also has a Mobile Remote entry in the main window’s left navigation. Sign in on the desktop, then scan the QR code or use Copy Link and open it in your phone browser. The phone offers Quick/Deep Capture, previous/next page, and Start/Stop Listening.
2. Run captures or read live answers
A phone capture uses the computer’s current screen. Tasks share the desktop’s three concurrency slots, result pages, and billing. Page through capture results and see the latest five interview Q&As. Start/Stop Listening starts/ends the desktop interview. Starting is blocked in OA mode or during an audio check. Keep the complete question visible on the computer.
3. Renew the link or disable remote control
Links last up to eight hours. Anyone holding the link can control the client and read answers, so keep it private. Renew Link immediately invalidates the old connection; Disable Remote revokes access. Closing the pairing window or leaving the Windows pairing page keeps remote control active. Disconnect This Device on the phone only disconnects the current tab. Disable remote control on the computer when finished.
Network and billing
The phone cannot operate an offline computer. Scan again after expiry, sign-out, or an invalid connection. Remote control uses the existing capture and interview rates, and review follows your saving preferences. Hiding desktop overlays does not end an interview or stop its timer. End it with Stop Listening on the phone or End Interview on the desktop.
